Sadly, winter is not a time of easy weight loss and successful workout. The cold days and even cooler nights lend themselves more to comfort food and comfy positions watching Masterchef or a DVD, rather than actively working out, trimming down and toning up.
While working on a Bible talk for Sunday night, I decided to get a cup of tea. (yeh, I know sounds very "church of England" but when the caffeine gives me headaches the best I can do is regularly "sniff" the aroma of the coffee beans in our espresso machine) As I opened a new box of tea, the back of the box had a "Things to do" card designed to write down what you might need to follow up on. Semi-helpful I guess and certainly more practical than 200 words on how great the tea is. And then I read the suggested things that one ought to do as a priority. Buy more tea, tell a friend about the tea and ask the retailer to re-stock the tea. Do you think maybe THEY think that the TEA is something special. I haven't decided if I will put the "To Do" on my fridge yet, but I am struck by the unashamed promotion that "it's all about the tea". Whether you are a person interested in the claims of Jesus and his invitation for you to become one of his followers or a "paid up and Passionate" disciple of Jesus, the best way to "grow" is to remain focused on Jesus. It is all about Jesus because Jesus has demonstrated that He is all about LIFE.
If you are in Melbourne this weekend, check out church on Saturday night @ 5 or Sunday night @ 6. If you are not in Melbourne, check out www.gwac.org.au and download the message on "BULKING UP" after Sunday night.
