I personally found the introductory presentations made by both leaders less than helpful given the desired outcome. I expected better than a party political advert and certainly, with respect to Mr Rudd, I did not expect to be told what he thought I needed to, or wanted to hear. His statement "Matters of real relevence to the churches" followed by a list of what Mr Rudd thought I should be interested in, seemed to communicate what the Prime Minister thought Christians should focus on.
"As a Christian I believe that people are basically good" Such is one of the statements made by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Abbott. The statement was part of Mr Abbott's list of values articulated during his openning address in the webcast. An interesting comment that has significant theological implications.
